Here is the sneak peak for our Giving Tuesday 2022 Campaign!
Our theme this Giving Tuesday is impact. If you’re new here, back in April 2022, we rescued eleven cats from a hoarding situation in Los Angeles where there were around 100 cats in a small home. Unfortunately, shortly after, one passed away because the damage to his liver was too severe. And, despite our best efforts, a second passed away because of complications from his FeLV. However, his foster mom loved and pampered him while he was with us.
We were able to treat the remaining nine cats. Three cats are FeLV positive, and three others are FIV positive. Snow White, Charcoal, and Steely all needed major dental work. Charcoal needed months’ worth of medical care, resulting in a total of $2,758. Charcoal is now healthy enough for adoption! That's the best impact of all.
OCSP Cat Rescue volunteers devote themselves to aiding cats; these cats are just one example of our lifesaving work. In 2021, our organization cared for over 650 cats, an increase of twelve percent from our previous year. We are experiencing an increase in demand because the local city-run shelter OCAC is not accepting healthy stray cats, and rescues like OCSP are shouldering the weight.
